From COVID Cheerleaders to Grocery Gestapo
The Vapid Politics of Sadism
Food stamps (SNAP/EBT) have been in the news quite a bit recently as a result of the government shutdown. It may seem odd to think this how might have anything to do with the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, this latest kerfuffle is merely an aftershock over one of the largest government interventions on behalf of working families in American history.
Jon Taffer is the host of Bar Rescue, a repulsive “reality” show in which a multi-millionaire ogre “renovates” failing bars while cursing out and abusing the minimum wage staff. As an example of Taffer’s entrepreneurial “genius,” one episode features a failing pirate-themed bar in an office district “transformed” into the “Corporate Bar & Grill,” because someone who has spent eight hours wasting away in a cubicle farm is desperate to cut loose in an environment that reminds them of how their soul is being sucked dry. Corpo B&G shut its doors soon after. In 2021, Jon Taffer on primetime news demanded that pandemic relief be slashed, because “a hungry dog is an obedient dog:”
Tragically, he would get his wish thanks to the Biden Administration, who on Labor Day 2021, gleefully slashed pandemic relief. Child poverty doubled under the watch of this “Next FDR.” Prioritizing the demands of Wall Street and over the health and safety of American families, the Biden Administration’s march towards “normalcy” via brutal austerity accomplished little more than roll out the red carpet for a second Trump Administration, which has embraced a gleeful sadism that has nothing to offer Americans except pain and humiliation. Their primary objective is destroying any remnant of citizenry and fully putting all power in the hands of an incompetent & sadistic privileged few.
Unlike most working Americans, the wealthy understand & practice class solidarity. Had we employed no public health mitigations in 2020, and gave out zero pandemic relief, America would have recorded over 860,000+ additional COVID-19 deaths that year alone - with the Long COVID disability explosion being absolutely catastrophic, if Africa’s 50% Long COVID rate in hospitalized patients is anything to go by. The ensuing economic devastation would be horrific, but working-class Americans would have been disciplined into accepting a massive amount of preventable death and disability. It took years of relentless propaganda and the Biden Administration betraying their mandate to “follow the science” to finally realize this goal.
A Condensed Oral History of Modern American Economics & Welfare
With a bi-partisan precedent established, the Trump Administration can finally realize a long-time conservative goal of destroying SNAP/EBT, an essential lifeline for working Americans in an economy whose wealth disparity is like an inverse pyramid, digging into the spine of the working class American as it spins like a top. For the past half-century, obscene conservative myths about “welfare queens” and “government cheese” have been deployed to attack the poor so that the rich may loot the nation’s wealth. It was Democrat President Bill Clinton, associate of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who saw fit to legitimize these lies in the 1990s.
As originally designed, the federal minimum wage was supposed to ensure that an entire working-class family could thrive off of a single income. This was considered a grave offense to the wealthy, who lobbied relentlessly in the following decades to strip away this dignity. They tragically succeeded.
In our modern era, massive corporations now get away with paying the vast majority of their employees such pitiful wages that many will never be able to own their own home, start a family, or even retire. Somewhere between 40%-60% of the homeless population is working yet remain unable to secure a stable roof over their heads. The vast majority of the country is working paycheck-to-paycheck, and nearly a quarter of American children struggle to get enough to eat. This has long been a public health crisis, as astronomer Carl Sagan wrote in The Demon Haunted World, published thirty years ago:
“Recent research shows that many children without enough to eat wind up with diminished capacity to understand and learn (’cognitive impairment’). Children don’t have to be starving for this to happen. Even mild undernourishment, the kind most common among poor people in America, can do it.”
All the while, America wastes 40% of its food. This means a meatpacking plant worker can spend 8 hours working the factory line, only to go home to his family and struggle to feed his children, and the steaks his labor produced end up simply getting thrown out, all to inflate the stock price of his employer. To think, we’re told that this is the most “efficient” economic system in the world.
The Infinity Engine of Sadism
When not abusing the office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services to lobby junk food companies to get the woke ingredients out of their slop, lowlife scam artist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is screeching that poor people on food stamps are blowing it all on soda pop. Considering how meager the average SNAP/EBT payment is at $177/month, this is an absurd myth. This comes out to about five and a half bucks a day. Try you might, but you can’t subsist an entire day on a single 2-liter of Leninade.
Lacking all critical thinking, conservative social media has lit up like a firestorm, turning into a self-appointed Grocery Gestapo: scraping the Internet for “evidence” to satisfy their obscene fancy that layabouts on SNAP/EBT are living large off lobster tails and ribeye steaks:
The same howling jackals who demonized doctors, scientists, and public health officials over COVID-19 - screaming that it was their “freedom” to spread a deadly & disabling virus throughout their community, regardless of who was harmed in the process - now suddenly have decided that the government needs to start placing strict restrictions on what poor people get to eat. A prime example of this is Bethany Mandel, a conservative do-nothing pundit who championed COVID-19 in unvaccinated children and now wants strict restrictions on food stamps:

Clearly, the problem isn’t that the American taxpayer is subsidizing corporate profits so they pay their employees absolute goat-piss for wages. It’s those “lazy gamers” blowing it all on Fortnite V-Bucks and OnlyFans subscriptions! Only by making SNAP/EBT as humiliating as possible can we save the American economy! Just listen to lecherous scam artist & CMS Director Mehmet Oz, who has paid out millions of dollars for his past decade of lies:
What we really need is a federally appointed Grocery Gestapo officer at the exit of every grocery in America to sift through poor people’s bags and ensure they know their place! Hell, why are we letting them pick out their own groceries at all? We should have designated SNAP/EBT aisles with siren lights to point out all the losers and leeches hiding among us in polite society and upload them to TikTok! Why even let them eat solid food at all? They should be restricted to Soylent meal replacement shakes until they shape up & start generating profit for their economic betters! I mean, just listen to the Pedophile in Chief - people are apparently quitting their jobs in droves just to go on food stamps!
Allow me to take this moment to propose an alternative view about centering the political & economic rights of the individual above all else, as this is the core of the Libertarian ethos. If the government and economy are dominated by pedophiles like Trump, scam artists like Oz, and other dishonest slimeballs like the leadership of our federal public health agencies, then it should be the guaranteed right of the individual to withdraw from being a willing participant. Government must guarantee the right of the individual to resist exploitation by the morally depraved and sadistically abusive in order to ensure a truly “free” marketplace.
Whether it’s bombing Muslim families overseas, terrorizing working-class immigrants here at home, spreading a deadly & disabling virus in their communities, or humiliating poor people simply struggling to eat, the singular focus of conservative politics is a repulsive sadism that gets off on seeing other people suffer. Having absolutely nothing of value to contribute to society, these broken souls can only realize self-worth by inflicting pain upon others. There is no negotiating some sort of true or common ground with such a menace.
It must be completely and definitively obliterated with extreme prejudice.
