ANSWERED: Can COVID-19 Be Prevented?

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, there has been an unyielding siege of propaganda working to sell the SARS-CoV-2 virus to the public. From downplaying the threat of the virus, to claiming it was your civic duty to get infected, to branding COVID-19 as an “inevitable seasonal yuck,” it was if SARS-CoV-2 had hired its own public relations firm. None of this kept people out of the hospital or prevented a single COVID-19 death, nor the millions disabled by the virus.

Attempts to mitigate or prevent the harms of COVID-19 were demonized and attacked with faulty logic, emotionally charged falsehoods, and absurd pseudoscience. In 2023, two unqualified academics with ties to an anti-vaccine propaganda “education charity,” Collateral Global, published a now-infamous “Cochrane review of masks,” which even after cherry-picking (inappropriate) randomized control trial studies, was inconclusive. The “Evidence-Based Medicine” authors ran to anti-vaccine media anyways, and misrepresented the results, igniting a media firestorm. For millennia, humankind has fought to overcome pestilence - to the degree that it’s considered one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Societies that turn their backs on science & medicine to embrace absurd fantasies are inevitably doomed to fail. Just look at who currently helms the American government: scam artists, quacks & even pedophiles. Upholding the delusions of perverse old men is prioritized over advancing our knowledge of science and medicine.

Only by rejecting such seductive yet fictious narratives & committing to advancing the pursuit of science & medicine can we move our society forward.
