Fascism doesn’t take power overnight. Fascism festers it’s way into the halls of power because “normal people” give in and buy into the fantasies being sold by fascist provocateurs. Today we dive into this phenomenon with a close look at Bethany Mandel, writer for The American Spectator, a publication owned by a homophobe who claimed that LGBT people are destroying communities and AIDS deaths were proof of moral teachings that homosexuality is wrong.

‣ On June 30th, 2014 Conservative pundit Bethany Mandel tweets, in reference to the Palestinian people:
“Not nuking these fucking animals is the only restraint I expect and that’s only because the cloud would hurt Israelis.”
‣ On November 2nd, 2014, Conservative pundit Bethany Mandel tweets:
“I watched my mom die. I took her off life support before we knew if she would survive because I had the choice to do it then.”
‣ On August 24th, 2017 for Jewish outlet Forward, Bethany Mandel writes an instantly infamous article titled:
“We Need to Start Befriending Neo-Nazis.” Sadly, this was not the brutally pathetic end of Bethany Mandel’s punditry career. Openly declaring her embrace of genocidal, neo-Nazi fascists, as people to “befriend.” Apparently, Bethany Mandel is so illiterate, she wrote an entire article completely oblivious to the existence of Verband nationaldeutscher Juden aka the “Jews for Hitler.”
These Jews, now referred to as “kapos,” also wound up in concentration camps and were executed after being declared illegal in 1935. Amazing what you can discover via five seconds on Google looking for, say… “history of Jews that befriended Nazis.” Jackass.
Turncoats at the Beachhead
As SARS-CoV-2 made landfall on New York’s shores in spring 2020, hospitals were quickly overloaded. Bodies were piling up in hospitals, with thousands buried in mass graves on Hart Island. We’ve covered this history before, and the first person accounts from frontline MD Jonathan Howard’s We Want Them Infected quickly put things into a very grim perspective:
One nurse described her experience by saying, “It was just complete chaos. It was like a medical war zone.” Another said, “It was an unimaginable hell to be quite honest.”
In the face of a new virus rapidly piling up bodies, leaders were forced to take extreme measures to try and prevent hospitals from collapsing - even as some doctors and nurses were so overwhelmed that they tragically took their own lives.
Bethany Mandel, as a do-nothing member of the laptop class with zero medical experience or scientific expertise, was protected by these public health measures. As many doctors and nurses were driven to the breaking point, Bethany jumped on social media to bravely stake her claim as an early turncoat in support of this new and unknown disease which was rapidly killing around the world.
‣ On May 6th, 2020 Bethany Mandel declared:
“You can call me a Grandma killer. I’m not sacrificing my home, food on the table, all of our docs and dentists, every form of pleasure (museums, zoos, restaurants), all my kids’ teachers in order to make other people comfortable. If you want to stay locked down, do. I’m not.”
In New York City alone, dozens of educators had already paid the ultimate price, as well as countless heathcare workers. There was no vaccine available, either. Apparently, being “alive” was interchangeable with “comfortable.” Not to mention countless people like Charlie McCone, who was infected in March 2020 and found himself physically disabled ever since.
Later that day, she continued her overzealous meltdown:
With zero medical, engineering, or any relevant scientific expertise, Bethany Mandel declared that “there’s no avoiding it,” declaring the entire field of airborne PPE amongst other scientific innovations to be entirely fraudulent. Bethany was already writing off the millions of dead & disabled before the scientific community could even begin to make sense of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and bodies were piling up in refrigerator trucks outside hospitals.
Instead of trying to help prevent needless death and suffering, Bethany Mandel made a proud declaration that she and her family would proudly be vectors for a new deadly & disabling virus she knew absolutely nothing about, that has killed and disabled millions of her fellow Americans. All Mandel cared about was an uninterrupted stream of being served and waited on by the underclasses who were supposed to throw their lives away for her comfort with a smile on their face for Bethany’s fantasies of lording over working class Americans like the petit noblesse of pre-Revolutionary France. Gee whiz, that sure ended well, didn’t it?
As waves of mass death and disability from reality came smashing through the glass dome of Bethany Mandel’s fantasy, her refusal to face facts only fortified.
Bethany Mandel Is Willing to Sacrifice Your Children to SARS-CoV-2
‣ On August 5th, 2021 Bethany Mandel tweeted the following:
“How strange it is that progressives see scaring their children into wearing dirty, bacteria-filled cloth on their faces for 8-9 hours a day without complaint as evidence of their amazing parenting.”
Now, the failure of governments, public health, and the media to ensure children had adequate PPE to prevent infection from a virus that had already killed 500+ American children by August of 2021 is one issue. Mandel insisted children should not be protected from this virus that had killed so many around the world so quickly.
What was staggering was her follow-up:
Anyone with experience wearing PPE for extended periods of times know that this is clearly not normal. One has to question - just what exactly are the hygiene standards for the Mandel family? Does Child Protective Services need to get involved? No young child’s mouth should be discharging this amount of bile. This is disturbing.
After making her stance against PPE for an airborne virus known, Bethany Mandel then proceeded to double down on throwing children head-first into this virus without any protection at all, not even a vaccine. Which is quite odd, considering what Bethany Mandel wrote in the Washington Post before the pandemic…
What Drove Bethany Mandel From Vax Advocate to Anti-Vax Crank in Just a Few Years?
‣ …on February 19, 2019: “Childhood illnesses of old are no joke.” In Bethany Mandel’s own words, she bravely wrote:
“Unfortunately, there are boomers who aren’t alive today precisely because they didn’t have access to the lifesaving science of vaccines.”
“It was in Southeast Asia where I became a passionate defender of the importance of vaccines, because I witnessed the ravages of these diseases firsthand.”
“The movement to avoid vaccines is one of the most glaring examples of privilege in the Western world.”

Mandel writes:
…we have learned no lessons about the dangers of COVID when it comes to kids, or the lack thereof.
Bethany Mandel never bothers to mention that literal hundreds of American children had died already. Countless more were being disabled by Long COVID. Since then, the pediatric COVID death tool is now over 2,000 - with hundreds of thousands disabled. Most of those children would be alive if their parents had vaccinated them against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Perspective: An FDA panel recommended a vaccine for 5- to 11-year-olds. Don’t mandate it
In which Bethany Mandel, who is not a medical doctor or scientist, writes:
“Mercifully, however, the data has shown that young children have reacted to COVID-19 much differently. Yes, children can get sick and can even die from COVID-19. But, statistically speaking, the risk for children under 10 of developing major complications from COVID-19 is really low. It’s close to nothing.”
On August 2021 the child COVID death count in the US was 500+. Before Christmas, it was over 1000+. COVID-19 vaccination would have saved hundreds of those lives. Bethany went on to write with zero expertise that:
“Parents instead deserve a nuanced conversation based on the individual and personal situations in millions of households across America. The calculation looks different for every kid…”
In which Bethany was fine doing the napkin math and writing off hundreds of child deaths that could have been prevented with a safe and effective vaccine. There are countless studies that prove this - just scroll down to “Table 1.” Bethany Mandel did not read any of these before running her mouth for a few hundred bucks.

‣ …the November 03rd, 2021 article in the American Spectator titled:
Thanks to the Biden Administration’s Children’s Crusade towards a fantasy of “normalcy,” children were given zero protection in the 2021-21 school year. From 500+ child COVID-19 deaths in August 2021 to over 1000+ before Winter break, doubling that number. Hundreds of American families sat down for Christmas dinner staring at an empty chair for two hours where a young child was supposed to be sitting, laughing and stuffing themselves full of ham and scalloped potatoes.
As this carnage was unfolding, with hundreds of thousands of American children becoming disabled, and many more becoming orphaned after bringing home a deadly virus to their primary caregiver, Bethany Mandel had the “courage” to write:
“Here in Montgomery County, our return to normalcy is currently being held hostage in exchange for near-universal vaccination of our least at-risk residents.”
Children who were in the middle of being harmed by a deadly & disabling virus Bethany knows nothing about were written off as “our least at-risk residents,” that were holding her “return to normalcy” “hostage.” Interesting choice of words.
This is not a doctor who treated kids on ventilators. This is not a parent who lost a child to SARS-CoV-2. This is a laptop class pundit that knows how to little more than smash a keyboard until something resembling a cohesive thought appears, and lined her pockets with money fearmongering about a safe and effective vaccine in children that would have saved the lives & protected the health of countless youth.
Just in time for Christmas, as the USA pediatric death count from COVID doubled from 500+ to 1000+ in just a few months, Bethany Mandel writes a new article: “Adam Carolla mocks the Covid tyrants” in which she claims, “There’s a virus that strikes the elderly and obese and spares children.”
Dancing on children’s graves for money is a hell of a way to waste a Christian holiday. Bethany Mandel will go down in history as yet another pro-viral pundit who made a mockery of children’s health for a few bucks and cheap heat on social media.
‣ …the December 31st 2021 article for New York Post titled “Public health officials are dangerously close to destroying their credibility,” the same public health she swore a crusade against in Spring 2020, mind you - in which Bethany fearmongers that the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine for children would sabotage other routine vaccinations:
The next time parents show up at a pediatrician appointment and find their children are due for immunizations against dangerous childhood diseases, will they consent? Will they trust that these vaccines are truly necessary or will they suspect they’re being lied to again?
Considering her newfound bedfellows, Mandel’s closing note is horrifying:
When we reach the other side of this pandemic, we’ll be able to calculate just how hollowed out our faith in the medical field has become. When that happens, we won’t be dealing just with COVID but the resurgence of entirely preventable childhood viruses and illnesses such as the measles and even, perhaps, polio.
From Medical Contrarianism to Anti-Semitism
When you go down the road of anti-science crankery, you quickly find yourself throat deep in anti-Semitism. This isn’t constrained to professional anti-vax fearmongerers, either! Youtube’s algorithm streamlined an entire blob of big beautiful Flat Earth enthusiasts into raging anti-Semitic Q-Anon cranks. So now it’s August of 2022, and Bethany Mandel is now little more than a raging far-right contrarian crank & pro-viral advocate. Totally hooked on the dopamine dripfeed of social media interactions from far-right botfarms and true-believing anti-vax cranks, Bethany can do little more than tweet out totally inane garbage.
‣ On August 26th, 2022 in The American Spectator, Bethany Mandel writes: “In defense of the ‘canceled’ Nate Hochman,” a “young conservative writer” in her own words. Nate would go on to become a staffer for the Ron DeSantis 2024 Presidential campaign, but not for long! At the end of July 2023, Nate Hochman publicly shared on social media some epic meme “fancam” of Ron DeSantis’ face superimposed over a Nazi symbol and marching soldiers. He was soon fired, but this is the sort of Nazi that Bethany Mandel insisted we needed to “befriend” and publicly defend.
Bethany Mandel is at least consistent on one issue - the defense and embrace of genocidal neo-Nazi fascists. If The American Spectator insists on platforming neo-Nazi lovers like Bethany Mandel, then it’s fair to assume that the American Spectator has established itself as a neo-Nazi propaganda rag and dealt with accordingly.
We Gave Bethany Mandel What She Wanted in Spring 2020. Now What?
With thousands of children dead, and hundreds of thousands of children now disabled by SARS-CoV-2, America is heading into the 2023-24 school year with zero PPE, up-to-date vaccines, indoor air quality improvements, or any protection for children whatsoever. The Biden Administration and neo-Nazi enthusiast Bethany Mandel are in complete alignment, with former COVID Czar Ashish Jha writing OpEds telling the public to simply “ignore” a virus that has killed & disabled so many Americans.
We already know what happens next from September 2023 to June 2024:
Many children will needlessly die thanks to COVID-19. A vaccine would have prevented many of these, the same one Mandel campaigned against.
All for a fantasy of “normalcy” that is dreamed of by someone who constantly makes public defenses and embraces of genocidal neo-Nazi fascist pigs. Looking back on the sociological construction of Germany under the Third Reich, the sad truth is that most everyday Germans just went along with it - whether it was slaughtering the disabled as part of Action T4, or the murder of millions of Jews in the larger Holocaust. They simply followed the herd and refused to challenge the propaganda, the nihilistic sadism, the promises of better times guaranteed by doing horrific things.
Now, those who are still protecting themselves from this new, airborne virus that has killed and disabled millions upon millions of people all over are facing harassment, abuse, and even physical assaults. Those who refuse SARS-CoV-2 infection are being targeted by those radicals who piss their pants and throw a hissy fit by any reminder that this “return to normalcy” is just a fantasy, and we all have a responsibility to prevent further needless suffering - especially in children, the disabled, and immunocompromised members of our families, communities, and nation.
That fantasy can’t last long until it all comes burning down in flames - whether that be the flames of foreign armies or global warming burning us alive.
On Her Victory Lap, Just What is Bethany Mandel Up To Now?
Bethany Mandel has found herself on a one-woman crusade against “wokeness” in public education, as a worthless faux-political slimeball hellbent radicalizing people to support banning books, Shakespeare, LGBTQ education, the existence of LGBTQ children and faculty in public schools, “critical race theory,” and replacing them with outright white supremacist fanfiction about the history of United States of America, with genocidal Christopher Columbus explaining that the Atlantic Slave Trade was doing Africans a favor. That’s not an exaggeration. - This is the actual fascist indoctrination of children via public education.
Mandel cashed in her social media cred with a book deal, publishing Stolen Youth: How Radicals Are Erasing Innocence and Indoctrinating A Generation - featuring young children wearing PPE to protect them and their families from a deadly and disabling socially transmitted airborne virus. What is missing from this cover is the thousands of American children who had their youth stolen because they died of COVID-19. The hundreds of thousands of American children whose youth was stolen because they were infected at school, brought the virus home and infected a loved one, and had to watch their parent die a painful death that child played a role in. The hundreds of thousands of American children who had their youth stolen because they were disabled by COVID-19. None of those children are mentioned or considered in Bethany Mandel’s rambling diatribe fearmongering about the “woke” cult.
When asked on The Hill’s Rising news program, Bethany Mandel could not define the term “woke.” Bethany Mandel does not understand anything about any of the words she claims to write about as an authority. She’s nothing more than a sadistic, ranting crank with no actual knowledge or insight, radicalizing parents to support a far-right fascist agenda that is bloodthirsty and sadistic.
Now, she’s aligned herself with far-right hate group Moms for Liberty, which previously quoted Hitler in a recent newsletter. Bethany’s also whining about “crazy lefty” protestors on Substack, and has started a new publication called “RightBooks4Kids” - paywalling an article titled “What Can Your Kid Buy at the Fall Scholastic Sale,” fearmongering about authors with they/them pronouns and trying to “protect” kids from dangerous books full of “woke indoctrination.”
On a closing note, you should probably know that with all of her fearmongering about woke public schools, Bethany Mandel actually homeschools her children. A recent article by Chrissy Stroop on openDemocracy writes:
In Christian schooling and homeschooling communities, parents discuss which objects they can beat their children with to inflict considerable pain without leaving the kind of marks that could get them reported to Child Protective Services (CPS), a part of the government hardcore “parental rights” advocates believe should not exist. Many prefer industrial glue sticks.
This week, one such case involving the use of glue sticks by a south-central Indiana father of 11 children, Scott Blattert, caught my eye. I can’t say I was surprised that Scott and his wife Cherry Blattert “justified” their brutal treatment of their battered children with assertions of “religious freedom” and claims to be following god’s commandments.

…according to HSLDA former lead attorney Chris Klicka: “If children have rights, they could refuse to be home-schooled, plus it takes away parents’ rights to physically discipline their children.”
These are the sorts of cranks that Bethany Mandel is now fully in bed with - and the most important issue to them is the “right” to physically abuse their children, as well trapping them in a totalitarian environment free of outside influences. One has to ask, why is Bethany so dedicated to this cause? Is it really just the money and social media followers? Or is she actually a true believer in these ideals of beating children as a sadistic form of “freedom” from Big Government?
One year, Bethany. It was a pristine one year & three months after Hitler took power before the Association of German National Jews were outlawed, rounded up, and murdered in concentration camps. As a mother of young Jewish children, you have a sacred responsibility to protect them above all else. With your “legacy” going forward now covered in the blood of countless dead and disabled children, this is truly all that matters anymore - Do not turn them into yet another tragic Wikipedia footnote.
